Twenty more photos of streets in Loughborough

Here are twenty more photos of streets in and around Loughborough.

Station Boulevard. Loughborough's one and only road to be named a 'boulevard', it was built in 2012 as part of the redevelopment of the area around Loughborough railway station. (04/2021)

Darwin Crescent. This housing estate was built firstly by Bryant Homes, a subsidiary of Taylor Woodrow since 2001, and which existed until 2010, and then by Taylor Wimpey, formed from the merger of Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey. The road is named after Charles Darwin, the father of the evolution theory (and the other road on the estate is named after the geneticist Gregor Mendel (Mendel Drive)). (Personally, I think that Darwin was also the founder of modern racism, which is actually implied by his theories about chimps turning into humans. Which is one reason why I don't buy that stuff myself. It is a very complex matter, and this blog is about photography, not science, hence I shall not go into further detail over this matter, on this blog.) (04/2021)

Kenilworth Avenue. This road existed long before the houses were built; it was formerly called Back Lane. (02/2021)
Arthur Street. Possibly named after King Arthur, by any chance? (02/2021)

Bramble Close. This quiet dead-end street was built in the mid-2000s. (9/2020)

Belton Road. This area is home to the Loughborough Motor Park, containing virtually all of Loughborough's new car dealerships, which I will talk about in a dedicated post in future. (09/2020)

Larkin Lane. Named after the poet John Larkin, this road was built in the mid-2000s on a former residents' car park that was accessed from Wordsworth Road. (10/2020)

Maxwell Drive, near the junction of Mount Grace Road. (03/2021)

Oakwood Drive, on the Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park.

Cleeve Mount. This is the only road in Loughborough (to my own knowledge, at least,) that is suffixed with 'mount'. (1/2021)

Tatmarsh. For those of you who would interested in its whereabouts, it's located at the junction of Toothill Road, Bridge Street and Rectory Place. Otherwise, there's not really a lot to say about it, is there? (3/2021)

Pevensey Road. (8/2021)

Jubilee Way. This was part of the Inner Relief Road project in the mid-2010s, and is the second road to bear the name of 'Jubilee'. (8/2021)

School Street - one of many streets with generic names. (8/2021)

Baxter Gate. This street has four bus stands, more than any other street in the town centre. A Centrebus Alexander-Dennis Enviro200 picks up passengers while waiting to leave for Melton Mowbray and then Grantham, while an Arriva Midlands Wright Pulsar Gemini-bodied VDL DB250 on the 127 to Shepshed passes another of the same type on the same route. Alan Moss Road at sunset.

Moor Lane (east). (9/2021)

Howard Close, looking towards Buckingham Drive. (8/2021)

Epinal Way.

Broad Street. (11/2017)
