Ashmount Close is a development of 32 new homes, built by Westleigh Homes, that was built on the site of the Ashmount Special School, for which it is named, which relocated to Thorpe Hill in 2014. It is located off Beacon Road, adjacent to the Sacred Heart Primary School. Planning approval for the scheme was granted in 2016, and the development, of which about 30% was affordable housing, was completed in 2019. The development was called Beacon Place, but the new road created was named Ashmount Close, after the former school.
