The Midland Fox Bus - Arriva's retro-painted bus

In February 2019, Arriva Leicester unveiled a retro-painted bus to celebrate 35 years since the creation of its predecessor, Midland Fox.

In 1981, Midland Red East was formed from the break-up of Midland Red. It was renamed Midland Fox in 1984, and was privatised after a management buyout in 1987. Afterwards it absorbed several smaller operators, including the Loughborough Bus and Coach Company.

In 1989, Midland Fox was sold to the Drawlane Group, and in 1992 was then sold to British Bus,  which in turn was bought by the Cowie Group in 1996. In 1997, the Cowie Group became Arriva, and Midland Fox became Arriva Fox County.

The picture shows the repainted bus, fleet no. 4752 (FJ06 ZSX), entering Alan Moss Road on its way to Shepshed on the 17th of August 2020.
