Loughborough's getting a Burger King!!!

An exciting development is occurring on the culinary Scene in Loughborough. Loughborough is getting a Burger King!

The Pizza Hut restaurant at the Willowbrook Retail Park off Derby Road closed last September. A couple of weeks ago, I visited the Willowbrook Retail Park. I had previously observed that since closure the Pizza Hut place had been undergoing some sort of renovation. But for the first time, I discovered that Loughborough was actually getting a Burger King.

The idea of a Burger King opening in Loughborough is not a new one. Way back in 1994 Charnwood Borough Council tried to strike a deal with the fast-food chain to build a restaurant with a drive-thru next to the hospital, along with a _, and in February 2017 Burger King franchisee Millcliffe Ltd began advertising for jobs in a new branch in the town centre, likely on Market Street. The latter proposal fell through because Millcliffe and another franchisee went into administration shortly afterwards.

And now, after nearly three decades, Loughborough is finally getting a Burger King.

With no more ado, here are some pictures that I took on that visit from outside the then-yet-to-open Burger King.
