The case of the vanishing telephone box

Until very recently, one could find a telephone box (of the KX100 sort) at the end of Wordsworth Road in Thorpe Acre, between the village green and the shops.

However, when I visited the shops earlier today, I noticed that the phone box was gone, with the only signs of anything having ever been there being some newer-looking bricks for paving and a patch of tarmac that wasn't even properly set yet.

It's just a pity that I didn't arrive earlier to see the (awful-looking, by the way) telephone box being taken away.

It was there... but it's not.
