Gotham bus depot - 1926-2021

The South Notts Bus Company was a bus company in Nottinghamshire which ran buses between Loughborough and Nottingham via Gotham, as well as buses on the Clifton estate. It operated from a garage in Gotham. In 1991, this company was sold to Nottingham City Transport, who have continued to run buses from the depot since.

These photographs of the depot were taken in the summer of 2015 from a passing bus; it is customary for buses on the South Notts 1 between Loughborough and Nottingham to stop and wait or change drivers.

The latest buses on the South Notts 1 entered service in 2015. They are Alexander Dennis-bodied Scanias; 642 is in the yard.

Nottingham City Transport is a huge fan of Scania buses; all of their double-decker buses have a Scania chassis. They also liked the East Lancs bodywork; consequently, they purchased the very last Scania Omnidekka. 963 and another Omnidekka are in this photo.

Note: These photos are copies from a PowerPoint presentation, and for some reason, the last photograph did not return to its original state.

Gotham depot was shut down on the 27th of March 2021.
